August Rides to Look Forward To

17 Jul 2018 2:05 PM | Scott Chapman

Some Aug rides to look forward to, I should be at most:

Sat 8/4/18 - Bourbon and Bluegrass Ride.  $55 Reg.  33, 63, 100 miles options.  Enjoy bourbon before/after a ride.  Ride starts/ends from OZ Tyler Distillery in Owensboro KY, they have tour night before at packet pickup.  Wendy, Henri, and myself met Mike Senzig for ride last year.  Not planning on this year, but it's a cool and flat ride if your're free that weekend.

Sat 8/4/18 - CIBA Downtown Bikefest.  Free.  16, 38, 68 mile options.  Ever wanted to ride our Tuesday night hill ride from downtown, now is your chance. Medium Ride loops around at Fox Hill, Longer route goes up Observatory.  I'll be driving back from Florida but this is a great ride.

Sun 8/5/18 - No Rides Planned.  I'm volunteering at state fair pedal and park 530-9pm, ride your bike to come visit me, we can go to the dairy barn together.

Sat 8/11/18 - ODRAM (One Day Ride Across Michigan).  $65 reg.  If riding across Indiana wasn't enough for you, or if you missed the event then join Wendy, Dennis, and myself as we ride even less mileage and less elevation as RAIN.  I have a suite that sleeps 6.  Driving up Friday afternoon, coming back Sunday afternoon.

Sat 8/11/18 - CIBA Mystic Menagerie.  Free.  18, 32, 62 mile options.  Long ride goes to Lake Lemon, great hills on all rides.  I'll be in Michigan but this is a great ride.

Sat 8/18/18 - Spokes of Hope.  $50 reg, join the Cure Chaser team on their website.  From downtown Lebanon, German fest after the ride.  One of my favorites rides in the state each year.  Who doesn't love bacon and slushies during a ride then cold beer and pretzels after.  Various ride options, but I'll be riding the century.

Sun 8/19/18 - My Fantastic WALL Ride.  Free.  50+ miles/2000+ elevation from Hummel Park in Plainfield (or my house) to Wall in Wilbur. We'll see lots of birds out there: turkeys, emus, chickens, peacocks, etc.  Wall was paved last year, holes no more.  More details on Meetup.

Sat 8/25/18 - No Rides Planned

Sun 8/26/18 - CIBA Wander to Walnut Grove Ride.  Free.  From Promise Road Elementary School in Noblesville.  14, 27, 41, 55, 61 mile options.
